The World of Dragons Round series is a program available exclusively through Provident Metals. We teamed with the Golden State Mint (GSM) and SilverTowne throughout the course of the creation of the six designs to deliver impressive images of dragons as viewed by cultures from around the globe. Specifically, these rounds focused on images of dragons from cultures in which the dragon was prominent in folklore and mythology. This includes the Aztecs of Central America, Welsh and Norse societies in Europe, Ancient Egypt, India, and China.

Obverse

You will find unique designs of the dragon on each of the obverse fields of 1 oz Silver World of Dragons Rounds available to you in this listing. While we cannot guarantee which specific design you will receive, we can tell you that there are six designs in all that include:

• Aztec: a large, winged dragon swirls around a temple in the jungle
• Welsh: the famed Red Dragon of wales is depicted on a rocky fliff
• Chinese: the ancient symbol of China, a serpent-like dragon clutches a flaming pearl as it surrounds the Great Wall of China
• Norse: the fire-breathing Norse dragon flies through the sky as lightning cracks around it
• Indian: a large, serpent-like beast protects the Taj Mahal
• Egyptian: wearing a pharaohs headdress, the ornate, serpent-like dragon in this design defends the Great Pyramids

Reverse

A common design element was used throughout the World of Dragons Series on the reverse of the 1 oz silver rounds. For each release, this dragons eye pierced right through the viewer and was accompanied by inscriptions of World of Dragons at the top and One Troy Ounce .999 Fine Silver at the bottom.

History

The World of Dragons Series did not have mintage caps on any given design, but rather, offered the rounds in production for a limited period. In addition to these 1 oz silver rounds, each design was available as a 1 oz copper round.
