Design

Not all Franc Coins look the same. During the production of these coins, there were many different designs available. One of the most famous designs was that of the Gallic Rooster, which is the unofficial symbol of France. The Gallic Rooster design was struck from 1899 to 1914.

Another of the popular designs was the original design of Napoleon III. This design was struck from 1854 to 1860. In the design, Napoleon II was shown in a right-profile portrait.

Helvetia was yet another popular design. She is the female embodiment of the nation of Switzerland, and she was featured during the tail end of the Francs history.

History

These coins were produced from 1854 to 1922. Many of these coins were produced by the Monnaie de Paris, which was founded way back in 864, or the Bern Mint of Switzerland.
