Jesus Christ is often called the Prince of Peace, a title that reflects his teachings of love and compassion. However, the gospels also describe a moment when Jesus displayed righteous anger, driving merchants and money changers from the Temple in Jerusalem. This act, recorded in all four gospels, was a powerful statement against corruption in a sacred place. Today, 10 oz Silver Jesus Clears the Temple Shield Bars are available at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
Each 10 oz Silver Jesus Clears the Temple Shield Bar is available in protective plastic, with bulk orders arriving in tubes of 10 bars. These silver bars are produced by Golden State Mint (GSM) as part of the Silver Shield Series.
Obverse
On the obverse of the Silver Jesus Clears the Temple Shield Bar, Jesus is shown confronting the merchants and money changers in the Temple. His actions symbolized his rejection of religious hypocrisy and the commercialization of sacred spaces. This was one of several moments in his life where he challenged the religious authorities of his time.
Reverse
The reverse of the 10 oz Silver Jesus Clears the Temple Shield Bar features the GSM Silver Shield emblem. This design includes a stylized sun with three emblems in the center: two hands shaking, a hand holding a small sapling, and another gripping a wrench. These symbols represent friendship, skills, and wealth. The inscriptions read SILVER SHIELD, FRIENDS, SKILLS, WEALTH, 10 TROY OUNCE, and 999 PURE SILVER.
History
Jesus openly opposed the misuse of religious spaces and used this moment in the Temple to expose corruption. The merchants and money changers had turned a place of worship into a marketplace, profiting from the faith of others. Jesus took a firm stance, clearing them from the Temple to restore its sacred purpose.
