Obverse
On the obverse of Silver Liberty Trade Buffalo Bar, you will find the effigy of a member of the Sioux tribe. This design captures the bust of the figure in right-profile relief with a large, feathered headdress and a stoic look on his face. Wearing this type of headdress was considered an honor for Sioux warriors and was bestowed upon only those who had distinguished themselves in battle. The background has a traditional Sioux patchwork pattern.
Reverse
The reverse side of the 10 oz Silver Liberty Trade Buffalo Bar comes with a depiction of the American bison. In this design, the massive frame of the bison is captured in right-profile relief as it lowers its head to charge. Inscriptions across the top of this design field include the words LIBERTY, INDEPENDENCE, and FREEDOM.
