Gold bars are popularly produced in the form of either minted ingots or cast bars. The visuals of both bars are different, as are the production processes. What doesnt change is the precious metal value of the pieces. Argor-Heraeus produces its gold bars in minted ingot and cast form in .999, .9995, and .9999 pure gold content. Provident Metals currently offers 100 Gram Gold Cast Bars with .9999 pure gold content for you to purchase online.
When you purchase a 100 Gram Gold Cast Bar in this product listing, Provident Metals has gold bars in brand-new condition from the issuing mint. Argor-Heraeus individually seals each bar inside of its own protective plastic blisterpack. This pack includes the matching weight, metal content, purity, and serial number from the bar, as well as the signature of a certified assayer.
The Argor-Heraeus logo is featured as the primary design element on the obverse of 100 Gram Gold Cast Bars. This design features at the top of the bar and depicts a circle with a ring around it. The circle features the initials AH in the center, with Argor Heraeus SA inside of the outer ring. The nation of issue and weight are listed next as Switzerland and 100 g. This is followed by the assayers stamp and the purity of the gold as 999,9. There is a unique serial number at the base of design field. Serial numbers in this collection come with two-letter, four-number codes.
For the reverse field of 100 Gram Gold Cast Bars, the Argor-Heraeus bars present a blank field. Many cast gold bars have blank reverse fields as only one side of the bar is accessible during the cooling and stamping process. All of the markings on these bars come with incuse struck designs. Incuse strikes put all design elements and markings into the surface of the bar rather than engraving them on the field of the bar with 3D relief.
Argor-Heraeus was founded in 1951 in the Swiss city of Chiasso. The mint was originally known as Argor SA and operated as such through its 1973 acquisition by UBS. In 1986, a joint venture between UBS and the German Heraeus group created the mint as it is known today.
