Each 100 Gram Gold Cast Bar is housed in protective plastic. Cast bars are favored by investors who value straightforward, physical gold. They are made by melting a measured amount of gold and pouring it into a mould. Once cooled, the bar is stamped on the obverse with identifying marks, leaving the reverse plain.
Design
On the obverse of each Gold Cast Bar, youll find the Perth Mints circular swan logo along with identifying hallmarks. Beneath the logo are the unique serial number, weight, and purity, all clearly stamped into the surface. The reverse of the 100 Gram Gold Cast Bar remains blank, showing the natural finish of a cast bar without added designs or inscriptions. The inscriptions on the obverse include THE PERTH MINT, AUSTRALIA, 100G, and 9999.
History
Gold rushes brought major changes to Perth and Western Australia. The regions population surged from roughly 50,000 in 1890 to more than 180,000 by 1901 as miners and entrepreneurs arrived.
