Obverse

On the obverse face of 100 oz Silver Bars are all the important identifying markers for the bar. At the top of the bar is the name Metalor. Below this along the center-right side of the bar are markings of 100 Ounce, Silver, 999.9. The Metalor assayers mark is at the bottom, just above the individual serial number assigned to the bar.

Reverse

The reverse field of 100 oz Silver Bars includes a blank field. This side of the bar has a rough finish and is blank because it was not accessible for engraving during the cooling process. Only one side of the bar is exposed during the cooling process to allow for engravings to be stamped into the products.

History

Metalors history dates back to 1852 when Martin de Pury & Cie founded a company known as the Preliminary Rolling Factory. The specialty of the factory was melting gold. The Bank of Le Locle acquired the factory in 1864 and Societe de Banque Suisse (SBS) took over the factory in 1918, transitioning the workshop into a precious metals refinery producing bank ingots as one of its primary functions. In 1936, the modern Metalor Technologies SE was founded as Metaux Preieux SA Metalor.
