Design

The 12 oz Silver Antique Finish Horus Statues replicates the common depiction of Horus from Ancient Egypt. The first known national deity and god of kingship in Egypt, Horus is commonly depicted as a man with the head of a falcon. As a sign of his status as the god of kingship and control over the kingdom of Egypt through pharaohs, Horus is shown with a pschent atop his falcon head and human body. The pschent is a red and white crown in most traditional artistic depictions of Horus.

In this design, Horus cuts a strong, imposing physique as he stands at the center of a mantle. He is shown wielding a sword in one hand and a scepter in the other. His figure is flanked on either side by statuesque falcons and the front of the mantle has another large falcon symbol to represent him.

History

In Ancient Egyptian history, Horus is most closely associated with the ruling pharaohs of all kingdoms from the prehistoric era to the Ptolemaic and Roman periods of the Egyptian Empire.
