The Lire Italian Gold Coins were introduced by the Kingdom of Italy in 1861. Available in 10, 20, and 40 Lire denominations, the coins were struck by mints in Florence, Milan, Naples, and Turin. In the 1870s, the mint in Rome took over the majority of coining in this series. The coins were issued through World War I with regularity, and sparingly through the 1920s with gold content. Provident Metals currently has 1862/1881 20 Lire Italian Gold Coins available to you online with NGC certification.
