Known as the 8TF, these particular Morgan Dollar Silver Coins are unique. Today, you have the chance to get 1878 8TF Morgan Dollar Silver Coins online at Provident Metals in certified condition.
Highlights:
When the United States Mint introduced the Morgan Dollar Silver Coin in 1878, the first 750,000 coins struck featured eight tail feathers on the eagle in the reverse design. Known as the 8TF, these coins were struck briefly in early 1878 before the US Mint introduced the design with seven tail feathers that it would use through 1921.
Obverse
On the obverse side of 1878 8TF Morgan Dollars, you will find a portrait of Lady Liberty. This image shows Liberty in left-profile relief with the laurel wreath and coronet crowns, as well as 13 stars and inscriptions of both 1878 and E PLURIBUS UNUM.
