George T. Morgan, Assistant Engraver of the US Mint, designed both the obverse and reverse of the Morgan Silver Dollar series. Morgan Dollar Silver Coins are also named after the former Assistant Engraver. The San Francisco Mint holds the distinction of being one of two mints to strike Morgan Silver Dollar Coins every year of their existence.
