The obverse of the 1880-S Morgan Dollar Silver Coins showcases the iconic portrayal of Lady Liberty, meticulously designed by George T. Morgan, former Assistant Engraver of the US Mint. Liberty is depicted in left-profile relief, adorned with a coronet crown and a laurel wreath. Inscriptions include 1880, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and LIBERTY.
Reverse
George T. Morgan also created the design on the reverse. You will find the well-known heraldic eagle that has been featured since the inception of the series. This front-facing bald eagle is portrayed with its wings outstretched, clutching an olive branch, and three arrows, representing peace and strength. Inscriptions read ONE DOLLAR, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, and IN GOD WE TRUST.
