The Morgan Silver Dollar is a classic American coin, cherished by collectors for its iconic design. Designed by George T. Morgan, this coin was first minted in 1878 and saw regular production until 1904, with a final issue in 1921. These 1881-S Morgan Dollar Silver Coins have been certified with a Mint State 65 grade and come in protective plastic slabs. They boast excellent mint luster, with minimal contact marks and only a few small hairlines that may appear under magnification.

Obverse

The obverse of 1881-S Morgan Dollars displays a left-profile portrait of Liberty. George T. Morgans design features Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap with a laurel wreath and a cornet crown. The surrounding inscriptions include “E PLURIBUS UNUM” and a ring of 13 stars. The date of issue, 1881, is engraved on this side along with the word LIBERTY.

Reverse

On the reverse side, the 1881-S Morgan Dollar Silver Coin showcases the heraldic eagle. This detailed image of a bald eagle presents the bird with outstretched wings, clutching arrows in one talon and an olive branch in the other. Inscriptions include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, IN GOD WE TRUST, ONE DOLLAR, and the S mint mark.

History

In 1881, the Morgan Silver Dollar was released from five different mints, with San Francisco striking the largest amount, producing over 12.76 million coins. Philadelphia, Carson City, and New Orleans also contributed to the years minting.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. All products are discreetly packaged and shipped with full insurance included.

When will my order ship?

Most Provident orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. Once payments are processed, products are released to fulfillment for packaging and shipping.

Can I choose the method of shipping?

All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.

Will I need to sign for my package?

For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.

What about International Orders?

Provident is only able to ship to addresses in any of the 50 US states. This includes P.O. boxes and APO addresses.
