The Morgan Silver Dollar is one of the most beloved coins in US history. Minted for the first time in 1878, this silver dollar was produced until 1904, and later made a brief return in 1921. Throughout its run, it was minted at several US locations, including Philadelphia, New Orleans, San Francisco, Carson City, and Denver. Now, 1883 Morgan Dollar Silver Coins in certified condition are available from Provident Metals.
Highlights:
All 1883 Morgan Dollar Silver Coins available here are graded Mint State 64 by the PCGS. These coins display good mint luster, light scattered marks, and a few minor patches of hairlines that are typical of this grade. Each coin comes in a protective slab to ensure its preservation.
Obverse
On the obverse of the 1883 Morgan Dollar, youll find a classic image of Lady Liberty, designed by George T. Morgan. This left-facing portrait shows Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap, a laurel wreath, and a coronet crown. She is surrounded by 13 stars, representing the original states. The inscriptions include LIBERTY, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and 1883.
Reverse

It clutches arrows in one talon and an olive branch in the other, symbolizing the balance between military strength and peace. Inscriptions here include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, IN GOD WE TRUST, and ONE DOLLAR.
