Obverse
The obverse design of the 1883-S $20 Liberty Double Eagle Gold Coin showcases a portrait of Lady Liberty. This left-profile relief, designed by James B. Longacre, illustrates Liberty wearing a coronet, surrounded by a ring of 13 stars. The date of issue is elegantly inscribed at the bottom.
Reverse
On the reverse, the 1883-S Pre-33 Liberty Double Eagle Gold Coins display the Great Seal of the United States. Also designed by Longacre, this representation includes the bald eagle, the national shield, arrows representing military strength, and an olive branch symbolizing peace. As a Type III coin, it fully spells out the denomination as TWENTY DOLLARS.
History
The year 1883 saw a significant increase in production, with the Philadelphia, Carson City, and San Francisco Mints all contributing to the Liberty Double Eagles. The San Francisco Mint led with a total of 1.189 million coins, just ahead of Philadelphias 1.125 million. The Carson City Mint added 59,962 coins to the overall production.

For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
