Obverse

On the obverse of 1884-CC Morgan Dollars, you will find Lady Liberty. This design from George T. Morgan captures Libertys figure in left-profile relief wearing the laurel wreath and a coronet crown. Inscriptions read E PLURIBUS UNUM, LIBERTY on the crown, and 1884.

Reverse

The reverse side of the 1884-CC Morgan Dollar Silver Coin comes with a vision of the heraldic eagle. This version of the heraldic eagle has no US national shield but does feature the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace in its talons.

History

Nearly three million Morgan Dollars were discovered in bags in US Treasury vaults in the 1960s. The General Services Administration (GSA) would later auction these coins off to the public. Among those coins, the 1884 date mark is one of the better represented as nearly 84% of its original mintage was still in Treasury vaults in the 1960s.
