The Morgan Silver Dollar holds a special place in the hearts of collectors, and at Provident Metals, we understand its timeless appeal. While the Peace Silver Dollar and Seated Liberty Silver Dollar have their own unique qualities, the 1884 Morgan Dollar Silver Coin stands out for its availability and historical significance.
Highlights:
At Provident Metals, we offer the 1884 Morgan Dollar Silver Coin in certified condition. Mint State 64 coins retain an average mint luster, with a few small contact marks clustered together, as well as one or two slightly heavier marks and patches of hairlines.
Obverse
The obverse side of the 1884 Morgan Dollar Coin displays a left-profile bust of Lady Liberty. She wears a Phrygian cap at the back of her head, adorned with a coronet crown and a laurel wreath in her hair. Inscriptions read E PLURIBUS UNUM, LIBERTY, and 1884.
Reverse
Turning the coin over reveals the reverse side, featuring the striking heraldic eagle of the United States. The eagle is depicted in a forward-facing relief, clutching the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace in its talons, while spreading its wings on both sides. Inscriptions on this side include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, IN GOD WE TRUST, and ONE DOLLAR.
History
The United States experienced significant economic growth during this period, characterized by rapid industrialization and expansion of railroads. Industries such as steel, oil, and manufacturing thrived, contributing to the country’s overall economic prosperity.
