Obverse
The obverse side of the 1884 Morgan Dollar Coin features a graceful left-profile relief of Lady Liberty. Morgan is believed to have modeled this image after Anna Willes Williams. Liberty is depicted wearing a Phrygian cap, a laurel wreath, and a coronet crown, encircled by 13 stars. Inscriptions read E PLURIBUS UNUM, LIBERTY, and 1884.
Reverse
On the reverse side, the 1884 Morgan Dollar Silver Coin displays the heraldic eagle, which Morgan designed without a national shield. The eagle is shown in a front-facing position with wings outstretched, holding both arrows, symbolizing war, and an olive branch, symbolizing peace. Inscriptions include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, IN GOD WE TRUST, and ONE DOLLAR.
