The United States Note had previously debuted in 1862 with a $1 denomination, with the 1886 release of a $1 Silver Certificate marking the second release of a bill in this denomination. The obverse of 1886 $1 Silver Certificate Martha Washington Notes comes with a portrait of Martha Washington. In addition to the US Treasury Seal and signatures of the Register of the United States and Treasurer of the United States, you will find notations that include the serial number and the words This Certifies That There Has Been Deposited in The Treasury of the United States One Silver Dollar Payable to Bearer on Demand.


On the reverse face of 1886 $1 Silver Certificate Martha Washington Notes is an ornate design element with several notations of the face value. This includes two 1s and two ONEs printed on this side. At the very center are notations of United States Silver Certificate and This Certificate is Receivable for Customs, Taxes, and All Public Dues, and When So Received May Be Reissued.


The 1886 $1 Silver Certificate was issued initially with small US Treasury stamps with red ink. Other versions included large stamps with red ink and large stamps with brown ink, with the final version boasting a small, scalloped shield with red ink. The Register of the United States throughout the release of these notes was William Rosecrans, while the Treasurer of the United States included signatures from Jordan, Hyatt, Huston, and Nebecker.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. Can I choose the method of shipping?

All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.

Will I need to sign for my package?

For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.

What about International Orders?

Provident is only able to ship to addresses in any of the 50 US states. This includes P.O. boxes and APO addresses.
