These remarkable coins belong to the esteemed Morgan Silver Dollar Series, masterfully designed by George T. Morgan, a renowned US Mint Engraver. Originally from England, Morgan joined the US Mint in 1876, and his talent shone through in the creation of the iconic Morgan Dollar design. He held the esteemed position of Chief Engraver of the United States Mint until his passing in 1925.

Obverse
On the obverse side of the 1887 Morgan Dollar Coins, you’ll be captivated by the left-profile bust of Lady Liberty. Adorned with a Phrygian cap, a laurel wreath, and a coronet crown, she symbolizes freedom, strength, and dignity. Inscriptions include E PLURIBUS UNUM, LIBERTY, and 1887.
Reverse
Flipping the Morgan Dollar Silver Coin to its reverse side, you’ll discover the majestic heraldic eagle of the United States, also designed by George T. Morgan. The eagle is depicted in front-facing relief, with its wings outstretched, clutching the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace in its talons. The inscriptions read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, IN GOD WE TRUST, and ONE DOLLAR.
History
The 1880s proved to be the most productive period for the Morgan Dollar Series, with the Philadelphia Mint producing over 152 million coins throughout the decade. Among these, the highest mintages were achieved by the 1889, 1887, and 1886 coins, in chronological order.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. Most Provident orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. Once payments are processed, products are released to fulfillment for packaging and shipping.
All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
Provident is only able to ship to addresses in any of the 50 US states. This includes P.O. boxes and APO addresses.
