The Morgan Silver Dollar stands as one of Americas most recognized silver coin designs. First minted in 1878 and crafted by George T. Morgan, this design was in use through 1904, with a final issue in 1921. Right now, certified 1888 Morgan Dollar Silver Coins are available from Provident Metals.

Each of these 1888 Morgan Dollar Silver Coins is certified in Mint State 64 condition. Coins in this grade have a nice luster and a visually appealing look. Some light, scattered marks may appear on the coins surface, along with the potential for minor hairlines in select areas.

Obverse

On the obverse of the 1888 Morgan Dollar, youll see Lady Liberty in a left-profile portrait. She wears a Phrygian cap symbolizing freedom, along with a coronet and laurel wreath. Thirteen stars surround her to honor the original Colonies, with the date of issue, 1888, inscribed at the bottom. Inscriptions include E PLURIBUS UNUM and 1888.

Reverse

The reverse side of the 1888 Morgan Dollar Silver Coin features a heraldic eagle design. This American bald eagle holds arrows and an olive branch in its talons, a symbol of the nations strength and commitment to peace. Inscriptions read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, IN GOD WE TRUST, and ONE DOLLAR.

History

The 1888 Morgan Dollars were primarily produced at the Philadelphia Mint, which minted 19.183 million coins. Additional coins were struck at the New Orleans Mint, with 12.15 million coins, and a limited 657,000 coins came from the San Francisco Mint.

When the subtotal of your purchase, including applicable discounts, is $199 or more, you receive free shipping for your entire order. In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. All products are discreetly packaged and shipped with full insurance included.

When will my order ship?

Most Provident orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. Once payments are processed, products are released to fulfillment for packaging and shipping.

Can I choose the method of shipping?

All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.

Will I need to sign for my package?

For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.

What about International Orders?

Provident is only able to ship to addresses in any of the 50 US states. This includes P.O. boxes and APO addresses.
