Each 1896 Morgan Dollar Silver Coin comes securely encased in an NGC protective slab to maintain its MS64 grade. MS64 coins display an average strike and luster with scattered contact marks and hairline scratches, some of which may appear in prime focal areas. All coins in this listing have been given an MS64 grade by the National Guaranty Corporation, one of the most reputable names in the coin-grading industry.

The obverse of each 1896 Morgan Silver Coin features an iconic portrayal of Lady Liberty. This design was crafted by the talented George T. Morgan and features Liberty depicted in left-profile relief, adorned with the Phrygian cap and surrounded by 13 stars, symbolizing the original colonies. Inscriptions read E PLURIBUS UNUM, and 1896.

On the reverse of the 1896 Dollar Silver Coin, George T. Morgan’s artistry shines once again, showcasing the national bird, the bald eagle, preparing to take flight while clutching three arrows and an olive branch in its talons. Below the eagle, decorative laurels are tied together by a ribbon. Inscriptions read IN GOD WE TRUST, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, and ONE DOLLAR.

Morgan Dollar Silver Coins without a mint mark were produced at the Philadelphia Mint. Morgan Dollar Silver Coins in general were produced from 1878-1904, had a one-year return in 1921, and again in 2021. The Philadelphia Mint has struck Morgan Dollar Silver Coins in every year of its existence, minting over 300 million of these coins, nearly half of the total.
