Obverse

George T. Morgan’s iconic design of Lady Liberty’s left-profile bust graces the obverse of the 1900-O Morgan Dollar. This remarkable portrayal, created in 1878, endured throughout the coin’s production until its last issue in 1921. Inscriptions include E PLURIBUS UNUM, LIBERTY, and 1900.

Reverse

On the reverse of the 1900-O Morgan Dollar Silver Coins, you will find George T. Morgan’s unique interpretation of the heraldic eagle. Notably absent from Morgan’s version is the US national shield. Instead, the majestic bald eagle takes center stage, facing forward with its wings outstretched, clutching the symbols of war (arrows) and peace (olive branch) in its talons. The inscriptions here read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, IN GOD WE TRUST, ONE DOLLAR, and the O mint mark.

History

The New Orleans Mint produced both gold and silver coins. It mainly minted silver dollars, half dollars, quarters, and dimes, as well as gold eagles (ten-dollar coins) and double eagles (twenty-dollar coins).
