Embark on a journey to the past with the remarkable 1903-O Morgan Dollar, a truly unique specimen from the New Orleans Mint. Provident Metals invites you to own a piece of history with these certified 1903-O Morgan Dollar Silver Coins, available for purchase online.
Highlights:
In the annals of the Morgan Dollar’s history, the year 1903 held great significance as it marked the penultimate annual release before a hiatus lasting 17 years. It wasn’t until mid-December 1921 that these iconic coins would be struck again, concluding the series with the 1904 release.
Obverse
The obverse of the 1903-O Morgan Dollar proudly displays a left-profile bust of Lady Liberty. With a coronet crown, a laurel wreath, and a Phrygian cap, Liberty’s image reflects the essence of freedom and resilience. Inscriptions include E PLURIBUS UNUM, LIBERTY, and 1903.
Reverse
On the reverse side, George T. Morgan’s design features the majestic heraldic eagle. Captured in a front-facing pose, its wings spread wide, and talons gripping the symbols of war and peace the arrows and the olive branch, respectively. Inscriptions on this side read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, IN GOD WE TRUST, ONE DOLLAR, and the O mint mark of the New Orleans Mint.
History
For the New Orleans Mint, the 1903-O Morgan Dollar Silver Coin was a notable addition to its collection. While they minted the coins in 1904 as well, the closure of the New Orleans Mint in 1909 prevented its involvement in the production of the 1921 coins.
Ordering
These 1903-O Morgan Dollar Silver Coins have received an esteemed MS64 grade. While they exhibit average mint luster, there might be a few minor contact marks and small hairline patches present.
