The 1908 release of the Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle Gold Coin was the most unique in the series. Although 1907 was the debut of this design, 1908 included coins both with and without the national motto of IN GOD WE TRUST, a feature added to the coins halfway through the year. Right now, you can buy 1908 Pre-33 $20 Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle Gold Coins online from Provident Metals.

History
These particular 1908 Saint-Gaudens Double Eagles are part of the Wells Fargo Nevada Hoard. Originally set aside to help repay early World War I debts, these gold coins wound up sitting untouched in a Wells Fargo branch in 1917. The coins remained there for decades before some 10,000 specimens reemerged on the market in the 1990s.
