Each note will have its own branch of the Federal Reserve Bank System featured on the note, such as Dallas, San Francisco, Minneapolis, Chicago, Boston, or New York City. The serial numbers and Treasury seal are in blue ink.

Reverse

On the reverse of the 1918 Flying Eagle Federal Reserve Bank Note is a depiction of the American bald eagle. In this design, the bald eagle is on a flagpole that features the American flag. The numeric value of the note is featured in each of the corners, with the text value printed above the design field.

History

Federal Reserve Bank Notes were backed by one of the 12 individual Federal Reserve Banks as noted by the name printed on the obverse. Federal Reserve Notes, the modern currency of the United States, are backed by all 12 branches collectively.
