The Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle stands as the second and last design used on the $20 Gold Double Eagle from the United States Mint. Originally introduced in 1907, this design remained in production until 1933, with minting briefly paused during and after World War I. Today, 1924 $20 Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle Gold Coins in certified condition are available at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
All 1924 $20 Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle Gold Coins offered here are certified Mint State 66. These coins feature strong luster and only a few small contact marks. Under close inspection, a few faint hairlines and tiny marks may appear in the main visual areas.

Reverse
The reverse of 1924 Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle Gold Coins shows the American bald eagle gliding across the sky above the rising sun. Type II versions in the Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle Series feature Arabic numerals and 48 stars on the obverse, as well as the national motto In God We Trust on the reverse. Inscriptions read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, IN GOD WE TRUST, and TWENTY DOLLARS.
History
The Liberty design for the 1907 $20 Double Eagle was created by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, who received the commission from President Theodore Roosevelt in 1905. Despite his failing health, Saint-Gaudens worked diligently, producing many sketches and clay models to achieve the high-relief style he envisioned. Roosevelt supported his artistic goal to make U.S. coinage as elegant as the finest examples from ancient Greece.
