Each 1926 Peace Dollar Silver Coin offered here holds a Mint State 63 certification from PCGS. A coin at this grade will have light abrasions, minor contact marks, and a few heavier scuffs or hairlines but will keep much of its original mint shine without needing magnification.
Obverse
The obverse side of the 1926 Peace Dollar Coin displays Lady Liberty facing left. Her hair is shown flowing in the breeze, topped with a radiant crown that highlights the hope and peace Americans looked forward to after World War I. The inscriptions read LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRVST, and 1926.
Reverse
On the reverse of the 1926 Peace Dollar Silver Coin, de Franciscis design presents a calm bald eagle perched on a rock. With its wings tucked in and head turned toward the rising sun, the image captures strength and peace at the same time. Inscriptions here read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, ONE DOLLAR, and PEACE.
History
Anthony de Francisci was the designer behind the Peace Dollar series. De Francisci, who moved to the U.S. from Italy at 18, reportedly used his wife Teresa as the inspiration for Libertys portrait. His design reflected the countrys spirit after the war, offering a more modern view of American ideals.
