Obverse

On the obverse of 1928 $1 Silver Certificate Notes is an effigy of President George Washington. This design debuted in 1923 on the final series of large-sized notes. The design is flanked by important features such as the serial numbers and the Treasury seal. Reverse

History

The 1928 $1 Silver Certificate was issued in six series. This is noted on the obverse of the notes on the upper-left with a notation of Series of 1928. The different series are separated by the inclusion of A, B, C, D, and E after Series of 1928. Each one refers to a different combination of Treasurer and Secretary of the Treasury signatures.
