The Peace Silver Dollar was the last silver dollar series used in daily U.S. currency. Designed by Anthony de Francisci, this series was first introduced in 1921 and remained in circulation through 1928, then returned briefly in 1934 and 1935. Provident Metals now offers 1935 Peace Dollar Silver Coins in Mint State condition.

  • 10th and final release of Peace Dollars!
  • Declared mintage of 1,576,000 coins!
  • Produced by the Philadelphia Mint!
  • Limited availability of certified coins!
  • Contains .7734 Troy oz of actual silver content.
  • The face value of $1 (USD) is fully backed by the US government.
  • Graded Mint State 64 by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation.
  • On the obverse is a bust of Liberty.
  • The reverse features the American bald eagle.

These 1935 Peace Dollar Silver Coins are presented in protective slabs and come with an MS64 grade from the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation. MS64 coins tend to have average luster, along with several small contact marks. A couple of moderate marks or light patches of hairlines may also appear.

Obverse

The obverse side of the 1935 Peace Dollar displays a left-facing image of Lady Liberty. Her hair flows freely and she wears a radiant crown on her head. Many believe that Libertys features were modeled after the artists wife, adding a personal touch to the design. Inscriptions include LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRVST, and 1935.

Reverse

On the reverse of 1935 Peace Dollar Silver Coins, the bald eagle is shown resting on a rock with its wings lowered. An olive branch rests in its talons, and it gazes forward with the rising sun behind ita symbol of new beginnings and peaceful times ahead. The inscriptions include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, ONE DOLLAR, and PEACE.

History

Anthony de Franciscis eagle design brought a new style to American coin art. Moving away from the common themes of eagles in flight or with weapons, he aimed to reflect the countrys post-war focus on peace and optimism.
