Obverse
On the obverse side of 1979 South African Krugerrand Gold Coins, you will find a depiction of Paul Kruger. This left-profile portrait is a stately image of the man who served as the first president of the South African Republic. Kruger served a total of four terms as president and was so beloved by South Africans that he was often referred to as Oom Paul, the Afrikaan term for Uncle Paul. Reverse
The reverse field of the 1979 Krugerrand 1 oz Gold Coin comes with an image of the Springbok antelope. The modern, independent nation of the Republic of South Africa has adopted the native species as its national emblem. The South African Krugerrand was the dominant gold bullion coin of the 1970s and 1980s. Millions of these coins were struck in the early years, with 1979 being one of the most well-represented dates in the history of the series at nearly 5 million coins in total.

When the subtotal of your purchase, including applicable discounts, is $199 or more, you receive free shipping for your entire order. In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
