In 1973, the United States Mint issued the first US Mint Set with a US dollar coin inside. The first coins of this denomination were the Eisenhower Dollars. These were issued in sets from 1973 to 1978. In 1979, the Eisenhower Dollar was replaced with the smaller Susan B. Anthony Dollar, though the latter was only issued until 1981 as its eleven-sided design was not well-received by the public.

On the obverse and reverse sides of the coins in 1979 US Mint Set, you will find varying designs by denomination. Included in this set are the Lincoln Penny, Jefferson Nickel, Roosevelt Dime, Washington Quarter, Kennedy Half Dollar, and the Susan B. Anthony Dollar.

The 1979 US Mint Set is available with sealed plastic sheets for the coins. While there is the potential to receive a set with the original outer shipper, it is also possible that some of the sets will be missing the outer shipper given the age of the series. All of the coins remain in good condition regardless.
