The obverse of this 1986 American Eagle Silver Coin features Adolph A. Weinman’s timeless Walking Liberty design. Liberty strides confidently toward the sun, draped in the American flag and holding oak branches in her left hand. It’s a symbol of freedom and progress. Inscriptions read 1986, IN GOD WE TRUST, and LIBERTY.

On the reverse side of the 1986 Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin, you’ll find the majestic heraldic eagle of the United States, designed by John Mercanti. This front-facing bald eagle bears a shield on its chest and is surrounded by 13 five-pointed stars, representing the original colonies. Inscriptions read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, 1 OZ FINE SILVER, ONE DOLLAR, and E PLURIBUS UNUM.

American Eagle Silver Coins have captured the hearts of collectors worldwide, with mintages exceeding 530 million from 1986 to 2022. The US Mint has produced proof and burnished versions of these coins, with contributions from the Philadelphia Mint, San Francisco Mint, and West Point Mint.
