Inside the hall, 28 wooden columns are arranged with meaningfour in the center for the seasons, twelve in the middle for the months, and twelve on the outer edge for the traditional Chinese hours. This layout gave the hall a symbolic role as a tool for aligning earthly leadership with celestial cycles.
