The Chinese Panda Gold Series, which made its debut in 1982, has been a consistent annual release ever since. While most coins in the series are issued as BU strikes, larger denominations like this impressive 12 oz coin were specially minted as proof strikes. It’s worth noting that while these coins were initially produced in Troy ounces, the series transitioned to the metric system in 2016, with new releases now measured in grams.
