Obverse
For the obverse field of the 1988 Singapore Lunar Year of the Dragon 1 oz Gold Coin, you will be pleased to find the Singapore Coat of Arms engraved. Its iconic motto is a translation of the phrase Onward Singapore. There are an array of other inscriptions with Thai characters and Chinese characters. Inscribed on the border are the words Singapura and Singapore.
Reverse
For the reverse field of the 1988 Singapore Lunar Year of the Dragon 1 oz Gold Coin, you will be pleased to see the gorgeous design of a flying dragon. It is depicted as soaring through the sky in search of the pearl of wisdom that it finally locates. The dragon is large and veracious but holds the pearl under its calm gaze with longlining and appreciation. There are a few Chinese markings on this side of the coin but there is no offered translation.
