The Royal Canadian Mint first issued the Gold Maple Leaf in 1979 as a 1 oz coin. In the years that followed, the series grew to include several smaller weights, including the 1/10 oz size. This particular weight was among the earliest additions to the lineup. Today, you can find the 1991 Canadian Maple Leaf 1/10 oz Gold Coin available at Provident Metals.

Later additions to the series included the 1/2 oz coin in 1986, the 1/20 oz coin in 1993, and the 1 Gram coin introduced in 2014.
