Highlights:
All coins in this listing are graded PR69 by the PCGS with DCAM designation. This indicates that the coin is near-perfect with full, original mint luster and a maximum of two minor detracting flaws. DCAM represents proofs that are deep-cameo visual keys, which indicate that the coins have strong, frosted matte design elements. All coins will be shipped in a PCGS protective plastic slab.
Obverse
1991-S Proof Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins feature the well-known depiction of Walking Liberty by Adolph A. Weinman on the obverse feature. This iconic image showcases Liberty walking towards a sunset on the left. Shes wearing an American flag whilst holding oaken branches. Inscriptions on this field include LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and 1991.
Reverse
The reverse field of all 1991-S Proof American Eagle Silver Coins displays the modernized depiction of the heraldic eagle design from John Mercanti. This image features the eagle with the nations shield on its chest with 13 five-point stars above the eagles head. Inscriptions surround the coin and read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, 1 OZ, FINE SILVER, ONE DOLLAR, S, and E PLURIBUS UNUM.
History
While this coin is one of the most popular coins for purchase on the market, the 1991 proof version saw a record-low mintage for the series at that time. With just over half a million struck of proof coins, it marked the second time in the series mintage was below 600,000.
