Sales of the American Eagle Silver coin from the United States Mint vary from one year to the next. The US Mint is legally obligated to strike the Brilliant Uncirculated version of the coin to meet demand from investors each year. While most coins are sold in bulk to investors in tubes and Monster Boxes, individual specimens with visual brilliance are often certified and available for sale as well. Today, you have the opportunity to get 1992 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins in near-perfect condition online from Provident Metals.

Because the American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin is struck to meet investor demand each year, a lot of factors come into play as it regards the final mintage of the coins in any given year. Demand from investors, market fluctuations, and even constraints on the silver supply can impact how many coins are sold each year. The 1990s marked a decade of largely depressed demand for the American Eagle Silver Coin.

Obverse

The obverse side of 1992 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins features an image known as Walking Liberty. This design was created in 1916 by Adolph A. Weinman and was originally used on the nations circulating half-dollar coin until 1947. It was revived and modernized in 1986 for use on the American Eagle Silver Coins. It shows Liberty walking from right to left across the coin toward the sun on the horizon.

Reverse

On the reverse face of the 1992 American Eagle Silver Coin is a depiction of the heraldic eagle of the United States. This particular version of the design was created in 1986 by John Mercanti for use in this coin series. The design features the American bald eagle in front-facing relief with the US national shield on its chest, arrows in one talon, and an olive branch in the other talon. Over its head is a cluster of 13 stars in a triangle, with one star for each of the original colonies that formed the new United States.

History

The mintage of the 1992 American Eagle Silver Coin dropped significantly from the previous release in 1991. With a mintage of 5.54 million coins, demand dipped as the American economy roaring to life in the early 1990s.

Ordering

These 1992 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins are available in near-perfect condition. The PCGS issues Mint State 69 certifications to coins with full, original mint luster and no more than two minor detracting flaws. Examples of acceptable flaws include only minuscule contact marks or hairlines located outside the primary focal points.
