Obverse

The obverse of the 1992 Chinese Panda 1 oz Coin proudly exhibits the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests, an enduring design element since the series’ inception. This portrayal offers a unique perspective, inviting viewers to envision standing at its doorstep. The Chinese characters for “Peoples Republic of China” adorn the top, while the year of issue graces the bottom. Inscriptions read 1992.

Reverse

On the reverse, a tranquil panda perched within a tree defines the 1992 Chinese Panda Gold Coin. Captivating details encompass identifying marks placed above the serene panda. Inscriptions include .999 AU 1 OZ, and 100.

History

What sets the Chinese Panda Gold Coin series apart is its ever-evolving panda design on the reverse. Notably, the 2002 edition mirrored the 2001 design, causing a stir among collectors. Subsequently, the Chinese Mint reintroduced fresh imagery in 2003, ensuring each release remains distinct. In 2016, the coin program transitioned from Troy ounces to grams.
