Obverse fields of 1992-S Proof American Eagle Silver Coins showcase the iconic Walking Liberty design from Adolph A. Weinman. This design was originally used for the half-dollar in 1916. 1992-S Proof Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins display the heraldic eagle first used by the United States Mint in 1794. However, this unique design was modernized by former Chief Engraver John Mercanti. Inscriptions on this field read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, S, 1 OZ, FINE SILVER, and ONE DOLLAR.
History

The silver metal version of this coin program features BU, proof, and burnished coins all with 1 Troy oz of .999 pure silver. This proof was struck out of the San Francisco Mint before being relocated to the Philadelphia Mint in 1993.
