At Provident Metals, we take pride in offering the esteemed Proof American Eagle Gold Coin, a cherished selection from the United States Mint since its inception in 1986. Initially, only one weight option was available to collectors, but over time, three additional weights were introduced. Today, collectors eagerly anticipate the release of all four coins each year, with occasional limited offerings in convenient four-coin sets. Now, you have the opportunity to acquire the 1993 4-Coin Proof American Eagle Gold Sets online from Provident Metals.
Highlights:
In 1993, demand for Proof American Gold Eagles remained relatively stable overall. Notably, the 1/2 oz Proof Gold Eagle experienced a modest increase in demand, rising from 40,976 in 1992 to 43,819 coins. Conversely, both the 1 oz gold and 1/10 oz gold coins witnessed a decline in sales.
Obverse
The obverse design of the 1993 Proof Eagle Gold Coins features the iconic image of Lady Liberty, originally crafted by Augustus Saint-Gaudens in 1907. Liberty strides forward with determination, holding a torch aloft in her right hand and an olive branch in her left. Inscriptions read LIBERTY and 1993.
Reverse
On the reverse, Miley Busiek’s rendition portrays a family of bald eagles. A majestic male soars above the nest, while a vigilant female watches over the hatchlings nestled below. The inscriptions read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, IN GOD WE TRUST, E PLURIBUS UNUM, FINE GOLD, and the individual weight and face value of each coin.
History
The 1/10 oz gold coin fell from 64,874 in 1992 to 58,649 in 1993, while sales of the Proof 1 oz gold coins dropped from 44,826 to 34,369.
