Highlights:
When you purchase 1993 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins through this Provident Metals listing, we have coins available with a near-perfect certification. The PCGS issues a Mint State 69 grade to coins that showcase full, original mint luster and a maximum of two minor detracting flaws. Acceptable flaws at this grade level include only minuscule contact marks or hairlines located outside of the primary focal points of the coins design field.
Obverse
Walking Liberty is the primary design element of the 1993 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin. Designed in 1986, the image shows Liberty walking toward the sun on the horizon as it crests over a mountain peak. Liberty carries the branches of oak and laurel in her left hand while wearing the American flag over her shoulders. Liberty, In God We Trust, and the date mark are found on the obverse.
Reverse
For the reverse design, the 1993 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin shows off the modern heraldic eagle of the United States. The design emblem here was modified in 1986 by John Mercanti, the 12th Chief Engraver of the United States Mint from 2006 to 2010. This face of the coin has inscriptions of United States of America, 1 oz Fine Silver One Dollar, and E Pluribus Unum.
History
The 1990s represented one of the lowest periods of demand for the American Eagle Silver Coins. For the most part, demand for the coins was depressed throughout the 1990s as the American economy roared to life with the expansion of the Internet and the growth of online businesses and tech companies. The 1991 coin sold 7.191 million specimens, but the 1992 coin was down by more than 1.5 million and the only other major jump in the early 90s came in 1993 with 6.763 million coins sold. Mintages were otherwise very low through 1999.
