The bird clutches the arrows of war in one talon and the olive branch of peace in the other, with its head turned to face the olive branch. 1993 Proof American Eagle Silver Coins set what was then a record-low mintage with just 405,913 coins. This would be surpassed in the next year by the 1994 coin. The 1993 Proof American Eagle Silver Coin is also notable among collectors as the first one struck at the Philadelphia Mint with a P mint mark. From 1986 to 1992, the coins were produced at the San Francisco Mint.
