The 1995 release of Proof American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins from the United States Mint included two options for the first time in the history of the series. While one was the standard proof issued every year, the other is the lowest minted coin in the history of the program and was struck solely in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the collection. Right now, you can buy 1995-W Proof American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins online in near-perfect conditions at Provident Metals.

Highlights:

  • Arrives with a protective plastic slab from the PCGS!
  • 10th-anniversary issue of Proof American Eagle 1 oz Silver coins!
  • Limited number of certified proof silver coins available!
  • Contains 1 Troy oz of .999 pure silver.
  • Bears a face value of $1 (USD) fully backed by the American government.
  • Issued a Grade of PR69 by the Professional Coin Grading Service.
  • Comes with a DCAM label.
  • The obverse side depicts Walking Liberty.
  • On the reverse is the heraldic eagle.
  • Includes the W mint mark of the West Point Mint.

With your purchase of the 1995-W Proof American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin in this product listing, you receive a specimen that has a near-perfect grade from the PCGS. Coins in PR69 condition exhibit full, original mint luster with no more than two minor detracting flaws. Acceptable flaws at this grade include only minuscule contact marks or hairlines located outside of the primary focal points of the coin. Also included with these coins is a DCAM designation that stands for deep-cameo. This indicates the coins have strong, frosted design elements overlaying deeply-mirrored, clear fields.

Obverse

The obverse side of the 1995-W Proof American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin includes the image of Walking Liberty. Designed in 1916 by Adolph A. Weinman, this vision of Liberty in left-profile relief first featured on the Walking Liberty Half Dollar coin from 1916 to 1947. In the design, Liberty wears the American flag over her shoulders as she walks toward the sun on the horizon.

Reverse

On the reverse face of 1995-W Proof American Eagle Silver Coins is the heraldic eagle of the United States. The national emblem, the bird holds the US national shield on its chest with arrows in one talon and an olive branch in the other talon.

History

The 1995-W Proof American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin was struck with a total mintage of only 30,125 coins. The coins were released for the 10th anniversary of the American Eagle Silver series and included in large part in a celebratory set.
