The Canadian Maple Leaf 1 oz Gold Coin has enjoyed one of the most popular runs for any gold bullion coin in the modern market. Since its debut in 1979, its strong demand has cemented it as a historic addition to the precious metals industry. Today, Provident Metals offers to you the 1996 Canadian Maple Leaf 1 oz Gold Coin!
Coin Highlights:
The Canadian Maple Leaf Gold Coin Collection contains some of the most popular bullion products to date. Minted in 1979, the Canadian Maple Leaf 1 oz Gold Coin is renowned for its historical maple leaf imagery and being the second gold bullion coin made accessible to private investors.
Obverse
The first Canadian-Hungarian to design the obverse of the Canadian Maple Leaf 1 oz Gold Coin is Dora de Pedery-Hunt. She was specifically commissioned to offer up an upgraded third-generation effigy of Queen Elizabeth 11. Her Majesty is depicted a lot older in the right profile view. She is gowned in jewels, most notably with her regal headpiece to solidify her status as the leader of Great Britain.
Reverse
On the reverse face, the sugar maple leaf is featured. This design was developed in 1979 for the Royal Canadian Mint by Walter Ott. It remains the staple design on the reverse of all versions of the Canadian Maple Leaf bullion series, from the gold and silver coins to the platinum and palladium coins.
