On the obverse of 1999 Australian Lunar Rabbit Gold Coins, Queen Elizabeth II graces the coin in right-profile relief, adorned with the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara. This portrayal of Her Majesty was crafted by Ian Rank-Broadley in 1998. Inscriptions read ELIZABETH II, AUSTRALIA, and 25 DOLLARS.
Reverse
The reverse of the 1999 Lunar Rabbit 1/4 oz Gold Coin showcases a rabbit seated on its hind legs, set against a backdrop of grass. Perth Mint’s Lunar Series signature style presents a single animal on gold coins, contrasting with silver coins featuring two of the same animal. The inscriptions read 1999, 1/4 OZ 9999 GOLD, and the Chinese emblem for the rabbit.
History
