History

Giant pandas live mainly in mountain bamboo forests in central China, across six separate mountain ranges located in Sichuan, Shaanxi, and Gansu provinces. In the past, they lived in lowland areas too, but human development has pushed their homes higher into the misty mountains, where bamboo thrives.
