The Arizona Goldback Series joins the Goldback lineup as a celebration of the American Southwests past. Each note honors Arizonas diverse history, reflecting on the Spanish and Mexican eras as well as the states path to joining the United States. Each 2 Arizona Goldback Gold Note ships in a protective currency sleeve. This 2 Goldback denomination was first introduced in 2025 with the Florida Goldback release. The Arizona edition highlights the 1869 Powell Geographic Expedition, a journey that revealed the Grand Canyons wonders to the world.
Design
The artwork on the 2 Arizona Goldback Gold Note portrays the allegory of Exploration navigating the Colorado River by boat. In the distance, Major Powell appears in his own vessel as part of the expedition. A Civil War veteran who lost his right arm at Shiloh, Powell became a leading 19th-century explorer, geologist, and ethnologist known for his studies of the American West.
History
In May 1869, John Wesley Powell and nine others set out from Green River, Wyoming, in four wooden boats to explore uncharted sections of the Colorado River. Their three-month adventure led to the first documented passage through the Grand Canyon. The team endured capsized boats, missing supplies, and dangerous rapids. Three men left the group just before the journeys end and were later killed after leaving the canyon.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. Once payments are processed, products are released to fulfillment for packaging and shipping.
All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
Provident is only able to ship to addresses in any of the 50 US states. This includes P.O. boxes and APO addresses.
