Buddy Holly, born Charles Hardin Holley, was an American musician and songwriter during the mid 1950’s Rock and Roll movement. Buddy was born in 1936, during the Great Depression in Lubbock, Texas. He learned to play the guitar while still a child and sang Classic Country, Gospel, and Rhythm and Blues songs with his siblings. Some of Buddy Holly’s noteable songs are: “Peggy Sue”, “Raining in my Heart”, and “True Love Ways”. Buddy Holly died tragically in 1959 in the same plane crash that took the lives of Ritchie Valens, and the Big Bopper.
The reverse of the Buddy Holly round features his signature superimposed over his horn rimmed glasses, and a stream of musical notes. The inscriptions “AMERICAN MUSIC ICONS”, “2 TROY OUNCES”, “999 FINE SILVER”, and the Elemetal mintmark also feature on the reverse. The margins of the reverse are concave while the center is convex, giving the round a unique three-dimensional appearance.
Each Buddy Holly Silver Round will ship in new condition. Individual rounds ship in a plastic flip, quantities of 10 in a mint tube, and quantities of 250 in a strapped monster box.
Protect individual rounds in a 2 oz High Relief Plastic Capsule.
